About Dogme
I was happy to listen to Scott Thornbury's webinar about "Dogme Frees the Spirit".
For me, it is about knowing the know-how of being spontaneous, empathising with Ss' expectations and level of knowledge and responding to challenges. If there is no challenge for them, create one. Their level of English and preferences should be exploited andI am referring here to the particularities and culture of Ss.
Mine, have preferences for questions as I have to drag out the words, at least in the first part of the lesson. You have to be creative enough, to choose suitable themes for their grade, to respond to their and your aims as a teacher.
I teach Ss from 6 to 18 years, from preparatory to high school.
It is amazing how they respond when you as a teacher help them to learn how to feel free and meantime to have an impact called learning on their brain.
I keep using this procedure until the chosen theme has positive feedback and the act of learning English has succeeded.
